are:
Impact Analysis & Rebate Maximization. We can
build our models off of draft floor plans and perform what-if analysis,
quantifying the energy impact of design options. We can also
contribute design suggestions to increase the “sustainability” of the
design and maximize the potential rebates currently available from all
levels of government.
Energy System Verification. While in design phase we
will analyze the plan to identify weak spots in the energy system
paying special attention to alignment of the air, moisture, and thermal
barriers.
Write Trade-Specific Specifications. Constructing a
highly effective building envelop requires that multiple trades follow
a consistent set of building practices to ensure a positive result. We
write a consistent set of specifications with a section for each trade
needed, clearly stating the needed results that will insure success.
Process and completion checks consistent with LEEDS for Homes and
EnergyStar standards can also be included to ensure that critical
elements of the design are implemented correctly.
Field Verification and Education. During the
contracting and building phase we can be available to explain any
requirement, train contractors on new conservation concepts, and verify
that the work performed meets the stated specifications. It is
critical that not only is the work completed, but that the installation
process is followed as well.
